Inspired by one of my favourite musicians, Neko Case. The artwork for her album Middle Cyclone featured Neko posing on the hood of a Mercury Cougar brandishing a sword. The imagery reminded me of the 1965 cult classic “Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!” which starred “karate-kicking bad girls” and fast cars.
Although a departure from my “regular” drawing style, I wanted to try something different and emulate a more grown-up vintage pin-up look.
